When I saw the complete Civ V set on sale at 75% off on Steam a few weeks back, I quickly jumped on it and bought it. I also haven't played any Civ (or any 4k) games before, but I'm loving the game, even if my head is about to explode with the many things to remember and consider in this game!

I played every Civ since Civ 2. I've played Civ 3 the most, I have played Civ 5 the least

It seems a lot of the older Civilization series players were disappointed in Civ5 when it came out. I know I was. The economy of the game was very broken at first, and the fact that units couldn't stack was horrible. The two expansions added a lot more depth to the game, which the vanilla version was sorely lacking. So it turns out to be a big investment to get a playable game (vanilla + both expansions) unless you find it on sale.

The best thing about Civ5 is that it's very easy to find, use, and make mods. There are a lot of mods too, adding greatly to its longevity. All said and done, despite being frustrated initially, I've played Civ5 more than any other game EVER. The full game (especially with Brave New World) plus the right mods make it a lot of fun. The most important mod is "3 Units Per Tile." The game is broken without it.

I just bought Civ 5 and am wondering are there any good videos to watch on strategy? So far I am understanding the game pretty well but something tells me there is more. Thanks,
