I did a fun set of threads like this back in my hay day and wanted to bring back some fun, with a twist.
We are going to build the greatest NFL team of all time by all of your votes, Fever members votes! It will be fun to build a team of what Fever believes to be the greatest team to hit the field of any time.
We started with Offensive Tackles, to which the members of Fever selected Walter Jones and Anthony Munoz!
Next we moved on to Running Backs, to which the clan chose an absolute athlete, Barry Sanders!
Now we move on to DEs. Vote on who you think is the greatest DEs of all time. The highest 2 vote getters will be our number 1 and 2 ends. If you don't like the choices I have given, go for the write in spot. Vote away and enjoy building Fever's Fantasy football team!
EDIT: If you choose 'WRITE IN VOTE' make sure to write the players name in a post within the thread. Thanks.
Here is the team so far:

RB-BARRY SANDERS
FB-
WR1-
WR2-
TE-
LT-WALTER JONES

RG-
RT-ANTHONY MUOZ

Reggie White hands down. He was a beast, and absolute athlete, and had the stats to back up EVERYTHING!

Dam, you can make a case for any one of these guys. I think I'm going to go with Howie for his leadership presence but you can't go wrong with any of them. Good choices Little T.

I love Reggie, and Jared Allen is my kind of guy -- all motor. I like Howie's "prehistoric" forearms, and I also think Merlin Olsen should be on this list -- 15 All-Pro selections in 16 years -- HOLY CRAP!!! But Deacon Jones was a monster. We all know the legend of the head slap, and how he wouldn't be allowed to play in today's game -- but he struck fear into every man he lined up against, and I love that. He had you half-beaten before the ball was snapped. I would take him and Joe Greene over just about any of these guys -- even Reggie. Mean Joe was the heart and soul of those Steelers teams (along with Lambert) -- his counterpart across the line was in for a bruising every Sunday.

Merlin was my #10, no joke, I had a hard time "cutting him"! However, I had to get a nice mix of new and old for the youngsters who don't really follow the history of the league
Can't really go wrong with the guys from this list, but leaving Merlin out was my hardest decision.

I hear you. Not everybody knows the NFL like we do, and I'm older than most, and have watched it near religiously for over 30 years. I tend to always go with the physically imposing players (Lambert, Butkus, Marchetti, Randy White, Deacon, etc). It's good to mix up the old with the new. For me, Merlin's first name alone is awesome

Haha. Agreed! I actually have a strange connection to Merlin. His grandson was my 'coach' one year when I went up to BYU football summer camp. That was pretty neat.
