The weather seems to be warming up but so are the times for news for the summer and beyond. Especially with the events to come in the following months around the time for summer. Could be a good time to maybe try out FF 14 with the recent announcement of a new expansion ?

Other than that you have the next part of Gensis for ark coming out in a little over a week. Are there any games that people want to try ? I hope everyone has a good week and ill be back next week as well.

We will not be having everyone in one tribe, but I will be setting up a main allied tribe for everyone to ally with. I will set up a central up for us all to draw resources from and have a 'safe' home base. All you have to do is make your own tribe, play it solo or as a group and then ally with my tribe. You are welcome to ally any other tribe, but you don't have to PvP is turned off, this is so people can have a private base but also we have a central location to mingle - Thundernut -

Five new Steam games you probably missed (May 17, 2021)
On an average day, about a dozen new games are released on Steam. And while we think that's a good thing, it can be understandably hard to keep up with. Potentially exciting gems are sure to be lost in the deluge of new things to play unless you sort through every single game that is released on Steam. So that’s exactly what we’ve done. If nothing catches your fancy this week, we've gathered the best PC games you can play right now and a running list of the 2021 games that are launching this year.

Lost Ruins
Release:‌ May 14
Developer:‌ Altari Games
Launch price:‌ $20 ‌|‌ ‌£15.49 ‌|‌ ‌‌AU$28.95

Lost Ruins is an exploration platformer (a Metroidvania, I guess) with a big chunky pixel art style. You're probably well familiar with the territory because there are a lot of these games, but as usual the art style here makes it more attractive than some of the competition. The combat here is fluid and gruelling—think Dead Cells—but in addition to hacking and slashing away you'll also be wielding magic with the usual array of status effects. Naturally, this one looks like a game for people already in love with the genre, but if you're a fan of stuff like Hollow Knight, Ori, or more obscurely, the quite brilliant Alwa games, then you should consider Lost Ruins. A good game for a Sunday arvo.

Hundred Days - Winemaking Simulator
Release:‌ ‌May 13
Developer:‌ Broken Arms Games
Launch price:‌ ‌$22.49 ‌|‌ ‌£17.54 ‌|‌ ‌AU$32.35

You've probably consumed wine, but have you tried making it? Not easy! And an expensive endeavour too, but Hundred Days lets you simulate the whole process, from tending the soil through to constructing your production line and dealing with the whims of the market. It's a pretty granular sim: you can even choose what kinds of yeast and bacteria you'll use during the fermentation process, but there's more relaxing tasks too, like designing your wine bottle stickers. The only thing the game really lacks is the ability to taste the wine, but maybe that's asking too much.

Geometric Sniper - Blood in Paris
Release:‌ May 13
Developer:‌ YAW Studios
Launch price:‌ ‌$1.59|‌ ‌£1.35 ‌|‌ ‌AU$2.36

We covered the first Geometric Sniper game about a year ago: As a sniper, you pan across pencil-drawn environments in order to find your target and murder them. It plays like a gruesome hidden object game, and it must have proven decently popular, because now it has a new offshoot called Blood In Paris. The premise looks mostly the same, except this time around there's the risk that you'll get shot back. Hectic. There are also some changes to the way missions play out, but overall, it's a light extension of the original game's premise. Looks worth checking out if you love those Hitman sniper challenges. It's an Early Access game, so more missions and a tutorial will be added over the next three months.

Purrfect Apawcalypse: Patches' Infurno
Release:‌ ‌May 14
Developer:‌ Denny Truong, Andy Schneider
Launch price:‌ ‌$7 ‌|‌ ‌£5.19 |‌ ‌AU$9.95

This is the third and final instalment in the Purrfect Apawcalypse trilogy, an off-kilter point and click adventure game featuring very violent cats and, occasionally, "bifurcated dogs." You're probably going to want to play the first two episodes before jumping into this one, but for those keeping up: This episode sees protagonist Patches "dragged to school for the first ever cat-and-dog day," which sounds potentially dangerous since the cats and dogs in this series hate each other. If you're after a misanthropic adventure game full of cheek, it's worth investigation.

Broken Sky
Release:‌ May 13
Developer:‌ Addictive 247 Games
‌$6.79 ‌|‌ ‌£4.92 |‌ ‌AU$9.77

Here's something nice and simple: A sidescrolling dogfighting game that looks quite a lot like Luftrausers. According to the Steam page there are "no boring, long winded missions—just fly, shoot and kill as many aliens as you can," which is sometimes just what the doctor ordered. Despite this advertised simplicity there are a selection of planes to unlock and choose between, as well as upgrades to weapons and special abilities. But really, I think you just shoot aliens.

These games were released between May 10 to 17 2021.

Google I/O 2021: How to Watch Livestream, Keynote Timings, What to Expect
Google I/O 2021 livestream is set to kick off on Tuesday, May 18. The search giant has decided to host the annual event virtually this year — after cancelling its last year's version due to the coronavirus outbreak. Historical records show that while Google I/O is aimed at developers building new apps and stuff based on Google's technologies, the I/O keynotes have become more of a consumer show. Google is likely to follow that pattern and host this year's keynote with announcements ranging from a new Android OS version to some new updates for Wear OS and Google Assistant. The Mountain View, California-based company may also unveil its new Pixel smartphone at the keynote, though it would go on sale in a couple of markets later this year.

How to watch Google I/O 2021 livestream in India and around the world, timings
Google I/O 2021 will take place between May 18 and May 20, and it will begin with a keynote address that is scheduled for 10am PT (10:30pm IST). The keynote and the entire three-day event will be livestreamed through Google's social media channels. You can also watch it live from the video embedded below.

Developers upon registering for the event will be able to watch live sessions and attend virtual workshops that will begin following the keynote address. There will be specific sessions on topics such as Android, Google Play, Progressive Web Apps, Google Assistant, Chrome OS, Google Pay, ARCore, Material Design, and smart home. Google has provided details about the sessions and workshops on a dedicated I/O website.

What to expect at Google I/O 2021
Just like its past moves, Google has maintained silence on what all we could expect at its I/O 2021 event. CEO Sundar Pichai, however, suggested during Google parent Alphabet's earnings call in late April that some “significant product updates and announcements” would be a part of the virtual conference.

Android 12
Android 12 could be the biggest announcement of the I/O 2021. Google has already released three developer previews of the operating system that it announced as an update to Android 11 earlier this year. Details available on the grapevine have suggested that Android 12 could come with features such as a redesigned notification panel and a new conversation widgets on the homescreen to notify users about messages and calls from contacts. The new version is also expected to include features including AVIF image format support and an improved picture-in-picture experience for videos.

Google is also expected to improve privacy on Android 12 and include an app hibernation feature to offer optimised storage. The new operating system will also answer developer concerns about Google's commission via its Play store in-app payments by enhancing the experience for third-party app stores. Further, Google may enable Google Assistant to be summoned using the power button on Android phones. This could be similar to how iPhone users on the new models can activate Apple's Siri.

Improved Google Assistant
Google Assistant is also likely to receive some major updates that are expected to be announced at this year's I/O event. Google has informed on its developer blog that some “new product announcements” and “feature updates” are coming at the show. A new, colourful interface has also appeared in some leaked screenshots.

Additionally, Google Assistant is likely to receive some features specifically aimed at enhancing smart home experience. Google is, however, not expected to announce any new smart home products at the event.

New Wear OS
This year's Google I/O is also expected to have some new features for Wear OS, formerly called Android Wear. The changes could be designed to counter Apple's watchOS and may include some special treatment for fitness enthusiasts. Google already has Fitbit on board that could help improve Wear OS with new fitness features. The changes could also make room for Google's in-house smartwatch that could be called the Pixel Watch and carry a premium design to take on the Apple Watch. Moreover, Samsung is speculated to leave its Tizen operating system and unveil its Wear OS-based smartwatch that could be announced at the Google I/O 2021 event.

Hardware announcements
Google normally avoids making a list of hardware announcements at its I/O shows. However, it is likely that the company may unveil its Pixel Buds A-series truly wireless (TWS) stereo earbuds and the Pixel 5a smartphone at this year's event. Details about the Pixel Buds A-series earbuds were accidentally leaked by Google earlier this month. The company also confirmed the existence of the Pixel 5a 5G through a statement that suggested its August debut. But Google may unveil the phone at the keynote.

Pentanet.GG beat Cloud9 to capture first rumble stage win at MSI 2021
It took Pentanet.GG a well-fought 37-minute match but they finally managed to pick up their first win of the rumble stage at the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational today. Although they’re eliminated from knockout stage contention, the Oceania League of Legends team still played with a ton of heart and skill to take down North America’s Cloud9.

For C9, this game meant a ton in terms of their possible qualification for the upcoming knockout stage. The team had been set back after losing five of their last six matches prior to this day, but they instilled hope in their fans by pulling off a dominant win against China’s Royal Never Give Up. Meanwhile, PGG were now playing spoiler for some teams after losing to MAD Lions earlier today.

Unfortunately for C9, the team looked uncoordinated for a good portion of the match. It was an odd sight to see considering how strong they looked against RNG earlier in the day. There have been so many inconsistencies with C9’s play, which has ended up being the biggest obstacle for the NA representatives at the tournament. Ultimately, that bane reared its ugly head once again in this match.

Even though C9 did underperform, PGG’s players showed up in a big way. Whether it was Decoy saving his teammates on Tahm Kench, BioPanther finding huge multi-man stuns on Sett, or Chazz bursting the opposing carries, the OCE squad was impressive in this victory. They can find some pride in saying that they were able to finally take down a team during the MSI rumble stage.

Looking ahead, however, this one game could be the difference between C9 making it through to the next stage of the tournament. With MAD Lions battling it out for the fourth and final spot in the knockout stage, every game matters. Now, C9 can only qualify for the next stage if they go 2-0 tomorrow and force a tiebreaker. Meanwhile, both MAD and PSG are guaranteed at least a tiebreaker for the knockout stage.

The exciting conclusion to the 2021 MSI rumble stage will begin tomorrow (Tuesday, May 18) at 8am CT.

Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival’s biggest Endwalker announcements
Final Fantasy 14’s yearly Fan Festival started on Friday evening, kicked off by a keynote about the game’s upcoming expansion, Endwalker.

Square Enix normally holds three Fan Festivals a year, with one taking place in Japan, another in Europe, and a third in the United States, but the event has been consolidated into one streamed event due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As expected, Final Fantasy 14 producer Naoki Yoshida revealed new information from the upcoming Endwalker expansion, which is set to release in the fall. We’ve outlined some of the biggest announcements below.

ENDWALKER’S FULL TRAILER SHOWS OFF SHARLAYAN AND OUR FAVORITE FRIENDS
The full trailer for Endwalker was revealed during the stream, showing what our favorite scions have been up to as well as the beautiful new areas in Eorzea that we’ll be exploring. It also showed that, expectedly, Zenos is wielding the new scythe DPS weapon.

REAPER IS THE NEW MELEE DPS JOB
After being teased for several months by way of Yoshida’s shirts, we finally know what the second job coming in Endwalker is: Reaper. The new melee DPS will use a two-handed scythe weapon. In addition to the very cool slashing attacks, it has a ghost avatar from the void to help them fight.

You will need to own the Endwalker expansion and have at least one job at level 70 to unlock Reaper.

OLD SHARLAYAN IS ENDWALKER’S HUB CITY
The way The Crystarium was for Shadowbringers and Kugane was for Stormblood, Old Sharlayan will be Endwalker’s hub city. This means that not only will this be the zone where you’ll be able to access shops and the market boards, but you’ll likely be spending most of your time here throughout the expansion.

OTHER NEW AREAS INCLUDE LABRYNITHOS, GARLEMALD, THAVNAIR, AND ... THE MOON
Labrynithos is a beautiful underground dome that emulates the outside world and Garlemald is the territory with the folks that Warriors of Light have been beefing with. Thavanir’s Radz-at-Han was already confirmed to be the expansion new non-hub city in a previous stream, but we got to see a demo of the area in action in the keynote.

As stated before, players will be traveling to the moon at some point during the expansion. This continues the Final Fantasy 4-esque theme we’ve seen with Endwalker so far.

LOPORRITS ARE ONE OF THE NEW BEAST TRIBES
These adorable rabbits can be found on the moon, playing in the Asian fairy tale about moon rabbits. Will they be making rice cakes? Will they be sacrificing their livers? We don’t know! We do know that they’re based off of Hummingways, rabbit-like designs from — you guessed it — Final Fantasy 4.

ENDWALKER’S ALLIANCE RAID SERIES IS CALLED MYTHS OF THE REALM
Yoshida noted that it will explore The Twelve, the deities in Final Fantasy 14, closely. It’s also going to be original content, unlike some of the previous raid series that were crossovers with other games.

WE’RE ACTUALLY GETTING MALE VIERA
Yes, the rabbit-people race that released in Shadowbringers is actually getting a male counterpart in Endwalker. Previously, Viera could only be female, but now they’re giving us the rabbit boys we’ve been begging for. Thank you, Square Enix.

There are plans to add female Hrothgar in the future.

ENDWALKER WILL BE RELEASED ON NOV. 23
The expansion will be fully available on Nov. 23, but folks who preorder will have early access to the expansion content for a couple days before this date.

New Studio, Lightforge Games, Established By Former Epic And Blizzard Developers
The world of video game studios is about to get a bit more crowded. Former Epic Games and Blizzard Entertainment developers have announced the creation of a brand-new all-remote studio, Lightforge Games. This new studio, comprised of industry veterans, is on a quest to change how the world plays RPGs.

Lightforge Games was founded by an eclectic groups of individuals with different areas of expertise within the video game world. CEO Matt Schembari, who spent more than eight years working at Blizzard Entertainment and another five years over at Epic Games, co-founded the studio alongside former Epic producer Nathan Fairbanks, former Epic programmer Dan Hertzka, ex-Blizzard artist Glenn Rane, and former marketing director for Blizzard and Epic Marc Hutcheson.

While the studio was formed a year ago, it has been relatively quiet as they work towards their goals. In speaking with IGN, Schembari spoke on how they are utilizing the collective experience of all of these veterans within the industry to make something that brings people together:

"When you look at anything from Minecraft to Dungeons & Dragons, these are games where people come together, they have shared connectedness, they're creating a world together, they're creating a story together in a very emergent together kind of way. These are the kinds of games we love, and we've got experience and expertise working on games like this. We all came together with a shared vision that we can rethink RPGs through the lens of social and creation."

In aiming to achieve their goals, Lightforge is attempting something that hasn't been seen much in the video game industry; a fully remote studio. In establishing the studio as fully remote, Lightforge is hoping that it will eliminate the stresses that often come with having to commute to work or the constantly-present worry that an employee may have to relocate for their job. This aligns with one of the studio's core values of embracing empathy by ensuring that its employees work in an environment they feel comfortable in and hopefully one that will allow them to be better creators.

With an innovative structure and focus on world-building, Lightforge definitely feels like a studio to keep an eye on in the future. You can find out more about this new studio at its official website.

Blizzard showing off Overwatch 2 PvP in two-hour livestream this week
Since its announcement back at BlizzCon 2019, Overwatch 2's pre-release marketing has predominantly focussed on its new bits - which is to say its PvE story campaign and co-op modes. PvP's still a major part of the package, of course, and Blizzard will finally be giving the game's competitive multiplayer more of an airing next week.

That's according to Overwatch's new game director Aaron Keller, making his Developer Update video debut following Jeff Kaplan's departure from Blizzard last month.

"We've been hard at work on Overwatch 2," Keller explains in the video, "and we'd like to share some of what we've been doing with all of you." To that end, Blizzard will be offering a closer look at Overwatch 2's PvP action next Thursday, 20th May, at 8pm BST/3pm ET.

The two-hour livestream, available on YouTube and Twitch, will feature appearances by the Overwatch and Overwatch League teams - including Keller, Overwatch lead designer Geoff Goodman, and associate art director Dion Rogers - and promises play-throughs of some of Overwatch 2's new maps as well as talk of the philosophies driving its PvP changes.

"Just to set expectations," Keller adds, "everything that we'll be showing is under development and still a work in progress".

Keller notes there'll be plenty more discussion of Overwatch 2's PvP ahead of its release - which, as Blizzard confirmed in February, won't be happening this year - and for those looking to grill the team about other matters, Monday, 24th May, will see the Overwatch crew participating in an AMA on the Overwatch subreddit to celebrate the game's fifth anniversary.

Blizzard relents on WoW Classic's overpriced cloning fees
World of Warcraft Classic is about to enter The Burning Crusade, and that means splitting the throwback MMO's servers between the new expansion and a pure, vanilla experience. But if you wanted to clone a character between both, Blizzard was hoping to charge you a fairly hefty $35 fee.

Naturally, the WoW community balked at the idea of paying effectively the cost of a new game to have an existing character copied.

Responding to feedback on the WoW forums yesterday, community manager Kaivax explained that Blizzard was making a "course correction" on these fees, which have been lowered to $15.

"This service – providing a player with a second copy of a character in a different game – is new for us," wrote Kaivax. "Our original concept of the value of this service was largely based on how we price other optional items and services. We want players who choose Classic Era realms to feel as though their choice comes with the possibility that they’ll be able to build relationships and guilds with other players they can count on."

"However, over the last week or so, we’ve gotten a very large amount of feedback from the community, and we’ve decided to lower the price. A lower price will likely still accomplish our goals with the new service, while allowing many more players to explore the option of playing characters on both Classic Era and Burning Crusade Classic realms."

WoW Classic: The Burning Crusade arrives on June 1st, and players will get to choose which of their characters will step through the Dark Portal starting with next week's patch. Thankfully, it should now be a little less expensive if you don't want to commit a character one way or the other.

EA Play Live event set for July, here's what it may include
EA Play Live, the big summer gaming news event from EA, has an official date - and it's a little further from E3 2021 than we expected.

Electronic Arts sent out a "save the date" announcement for the event on its official Twitter account, confirming that EA Play Live will be held on July 22. Fun fact: the 3D cube, sphere, and pyramid in the teaser video included with the tweet are a callback to the company's original logo, which we would say has some strong vaporwave vibes if it were to be released today.

The date for the event is the only thing EA is teasing so far, however it does hint at something else by exclusion: EA and DICE are heavily teasing that the Battlefield 6 reveal event will come in June, so it sounds like it and EA Play Live will be separate events. The EA Play Live event could still have more to share about the next Battlefield after its initial reveal, of course - I'd be surprised if EA didn't start dropping a lot more info about the game in the following months, since we know the next Battlefield is set to arrive by the end of this year.

As for what else we could see at EA Play Live this year, there's always the looming specter of Dragon Age 4 - BioWare has given us behind-the-scenes looks and cinematic teasers, but we're still waiting for a proper look at gameplay for the upcoming RPG. It may still be too early to hold out hope for another look at the next Mass Effect.

Skull and Bones Delayed Yet Again to 2022
Skull and Bones has been pushed back yet again. Ubisoft confirmed the ship sim is now targeting a release date sometime between 2022 to 2023

The latest Skull and Bones delay was confirmed in Ubisoft's full-year earnings report for 2020. Ubisoft boasted its robust product lineup for 2021 including Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Quarantine, Rider Republic, The Division Heartland, and Roller Champions, but also snuck in the new Skull and Bones delay into its report.

Skull and Bones was originally announced at E3 2017 and was set to be released in 2018. Skull and Bones was later delayed to 2019, then 2020, and again to 2021.

It was announced as a standalone game and seemed to build on top of the popularity of the ship combat gameplay from the Assassin's Creed series. The game's creative director Elisabeth Pellen announced that the development team has expanded and there is a new vision for the game.

Ubisoft Singapore is in charge of the project but is joined by Ubisoft studios in Berlin, Chengdu, Kieve, Paris, and the Phillippines to help fulfill this expanded scope.

Ubisoft is currently presenting its full-year earnings so check back with IGN as we hear more details about the company's 2021-2022 plans from CEO Yves Guillemot.

Dodgeball battler Knockout City will be free to play for ten days at launch
Get off the bench, sporty game folks. Electronic Arts' upcoming competitive team dodgeball game Knockout City is coming up next week and they've gone and made it free to play for the first ten days after launch. A couple of the RPS crew have already had a decent time trying it earlier this year, so it may be one you'll want to jump in on. EA have queued up quite a few events during the free trial period, and are kicking off the first of KOC's seasons then too. They've just announced what all you can get up to starting on May 21st.
EA say that you'll have access to the entire game during the free trial, not just a subset of maps or activities. It is a team-based competitive game, so that'll involve teaming up with friends across platforms, unlocking cosmetic items, and participating in four different game style playlists.

EA are calling the first ten days of KOC their Block Party including a couple days where the developers will be matching up against players on Twitch and a community tournament as well. Knockout's first season begins on May 25th, also during the trial period, which will add a new map, various "contract" types, and league play. You can get the rest of the details on the trial and activities on EA's announcement.

Colm and Ed have both given KOC a go earlier this year and came away optimistic about it. You can hear Colm explain it up there in a video from February. Ed wrote up a Knockout City preview around the same time. He explains there's actually a decent amount of skill involved in how and when you throw your dodgeballs, and that the imagined weight of it feels swell too.
"I also need to give a shout out to the fake throw," Ed says. "It's another super simple act, but I got flashes of evil glee as I feigned a fling and watched my opponent instinctively clap the air in a panic, trying to catch a ball that did not come. There are other tricks too, like the ability to curve balls like haymakers, or do an up-and-over lob to bypass obstacles."

Ed also talked about how the skills for KOC are less about precision aim—you lock onto targets when you're getting to throw—and more about making those quick decisions about what style of throw to use and where on the map to be. As bad shooty game person who hates missing out on the latest team-based trends, that sounds pretty swell to me. It also made it on RPS's list of top ten PC games for May.

The free trial period for Knockout City starts at launch on May 21st at 1pm BST (5am PST) and runs through May 30th at the same time.
Knockout City launches next Friday, May 21st on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Origin for $19.99. It'll also be added to the Xbox Game Pass for PC.
