Diablo 3 Event

Season 14 Leveling Event & Competition: "Diablo 3 Couples Leveling Event from Hell"

Friday @ 5:00 p.m. PST / 8:00 p.m. EST on June 15, 2018

Please be there 30 minutes early to begin setting up groups.

This season we're looking at doing something a bit different. Rather than forming complete groups, we're going to go with a mixer theme. Pick your partner, and then you will be assigned with another team to form your group of 4. If you don't have a partner, that's fine too. We'll be forming up groups of people who are flying solo that night. There will be rewards for the first 3 groups to hit 70, and an honorable mention for the 4th group. Please sign up with your partner so we can estimate how many discord channels we'll need.

If you are positive you can't stay the whole way to 70, please let the officers know so we can group those people accordingly.

Rules are the same as always, it's simply the first 4 man group to have all 4 members reach level 70 wins the event for the night. All participants will receive 500 Fever Coins for participating. ALL GROUP PARTICIPANTS MUST BE FEVER MEMBERS, REGISTERED WITH D3 AS THEIR MAIN OR ALT GAME, REGISTERED IN THE FEVER IN-GAME CLAN (Fever 1 or 2), AND BE LOGGED INTO DISCORD IN THE D3 SECTION TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE AWARDS. THIS EVENT IS BEING COORDINATED AND HOSTED THROUGH DISCORD, WHICH IS WHY IT'S A REQURIEMENT. Winners will be verified by Gizmo256, Ghist, and VioletShadow.

To submit your proof of leveling/group - please submit a screenshot directly to the #d3 channel in discord, showing your whole group and the timestamp from in-game. Discord makes it easy to post screenshots, simply hit the print screen button and paste into discord.

This event is being held on the NA servers only. While we would like to host this on the EU servers as well, we do not have enough member participation at this time to host such an event.

ESPN+ subscription service will broadcast League of Legends competitions starting this summer

ESPN’s recently launched ESPN+ streaming service is adding e-sports to its repertoire. The company has announced that it will broadcast live coverage of several League of Legends competitions this summer, beginning on June 16th with the 2018 North American League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split (NA LCS). After that comes the NA LCS Summer Finals in September September and then the League of Legends World Championship in the fall.

The deal between ESPN and Riot Games is non-exclusive, so you’ll still be able to stream those same competitions for the hugely popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) title on Twitch. For free. But ESPN is likely hoping that covering e-sports will help bring in more subscribers for the still-new $4.99/month ESPN+ service. ESPN+ includes thousands of hours of live events from various sports leagues throughout the year, original programming, and an ad-free experience when using the ESPN website and app. Subcribers aren’t constantly saddled with pre- or post-roll video ads.

Riot Games says that the 2017 LoL World Championship drew “80 million unique viewers tuning in for a single match.” Fans of the game watched over 1.2 billion hours of video during the event.

Riot and BAMTech, the division of Disney that built the technology behind ESPN+, have been business partners since 2016 when the two companies signed a $300 million deal to have BAMTech stream League of Legends competitions. Back in November, Riot announced changes to its North America competition slate that resulted in the creation of permanent teams; several of them are backed or owned by big-league sports teams including the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors.

Fortnite is getting a new 'Playground' mode with respawns and llamas

In the latest Fortnite 'State of Development' blogpost, Epic Games has announced a forthcoming limited time mode in the form of Playground (v1). Departing dramatically from the format of previous Fortnite modes, Playground resembles Minecraft more than it does, say, a battle royale. And there are loads of llamas too, apparently, though stats and challenges won't be tracked.

"Battle and build to your heart's content with an extended period of time to roam around the map as well as increased resource generation," reads the description. "All treasure chests and ammo crates will be spawned, try droppin’ in different spots and scope out the loot. Friendly fire is on so you can scrimmage with your squad (up to 4 friends per match), but fear not you’ll respawn immediately."

In other game mode news, Epic is "evaluating" the possibility of adding a 50v50 mode permanently.

There are a bunch of incoming quality of life changes. The Victory Royale screen will be revamped to look a bit more celebratory, while the studio is also "investigating ways to display an in-world marker to allow for easier navigation around the island." Elsewhere, challenge progress notifications are forthcoming, the spectator user interface will be improved, and tweaks are being made to the replay functionality.

Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 Remastered For The PlayStation 4

Now considered PlayStation 3 classics, Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 are getting remastered for the PlayStation 4 in full HD.

Famitsu reports that the games will basically be the same as the originals, but run at a crisp 60 frames per second and look kickass at 1080p!

Battlefield V Set in WWII, Launches October 19

EA has finally confirmed where and when BATTLEFIELD 5 is taking place. It will take place during World War II and come out October 19th on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. EA Access subscribers will be able to play the game on October 11th. Players who pre-order will get access to the eventual beta.

DICE confirmed at the reveal event that they are showing people a "never before seen portrayal of World War II" in their "most immersive Battlefield ever." It will have a few more multiplayer modes like Tides of War and Grand Operations as well as the return of cooperative play. Co-op will support four players and will be a tense experience. A battle royale mode WAS NOT announced or shown.

The single-player campaign will continue the War Stories trend that Battlefield 1 started. They showed concept art from a Norwegian resistance soldier and her journey to combat Nazi occupation. DICE said they wanted to set context and show the player some perspective of the war through this campaign. None of the other campaign stories were shown during the reveal event.

There will also be no premium pass where players can pay for maps. DICE said they wanted to listen to the players and how adamant they were in not wanting a paid premium pass. This is most likely a response to Star Wars: Battlefront 2's daunting microtransactions that pervaded the game and drove players away. However, they didn't say how often the maps would come out.

Players will be able to customize their soldier, weapon, and vehicle in multiplayer. DICE emphasized multiple times during (and after) the presentation how important customization was in BATTLEFIELD 5. They said they wanted players to inject a soul into their avatar.

Killer7 is coming to Steam later this fall

Killer7, the 2005 stylish adventure-thriller by Suda51, is getting remastered for Steam, Grasshopper Manufacture announced yesterday. It’s coming this Fall.

The game’s Steam listing does not specifically mention remastering features but Game Informer reported yesterday that Grasshopper thinks “the game’s simple models and colors scale nicely to modern resolutions.” It will also have keyboard-and-mouse controls. A news release from NIS America, the game’s PC publisher (Capcom was its original console publisher) said Killer7’s “timeless visual style” will be “perfectly ported to modern machines.” The Steam listing gives no hardware specifications for PC.

After it was announced at a Momocon 2018 panel in Atlanta, hawk-eyed users on Twitter and YouTube noted that the trailer’s final scene appeared to show the FPS counter used by the Dolphin emulator for GameCube.

Others mentioned this was probably something being done only for the trailer. Either way, we’ve dropped a line with NIS America to ask what’s going on.

Killer7 launched in mid-2005 on GameCube and PlayStation 2. It’s had a cult appeal ever since although that’s not to say it’s everyone’s cup of tea. Most recently, GungHo Entertainment held a crossover event in Let It Die that used Killer7-themed weapons, quests and rewards, in celebration of Grasshopper’s 20th anniversary. That event ended just this Thursday, but it signaled to fans that something more might be coming for Killer7.
